PLUNK!! Biggio takes 268 for the team!

Posted by Hello

Astros All-Time great Craig Biggio set the major league record for getting hit by a pitch, when Rockies Pitcher/Loser Byung-Hyun Kim tagged him with what Kim calls his "fastball" yesterday. It was the 268th time Biggio gotten plunked, passing former record holder and Mariners manager Don Baylor. Just to prove it wasn't a fluke and that he wasn't just trying to get his name into Cooperstown, Kim beaned Jeff Bagwell with the next pitch. Can you say "Waste of a Roster Spot?" (C'mon Furl?)

So, should Biggio be in the Hall of Fame? Hell yes, says I. Sure, he's a career .286 hitter (which isn't bad), but he's got over 1000 career RBIs, over 400 SB, 244 HR, 2718 Hits (52nd All-Time), and a silly 587 doubles, which is a shit-load of doubles. He's moved from catcher to second bass to outfield and back to second, winning gold gloves and making the all-star team. Put him in.

p.s. - That could have been Scott beaning Biggio, those stupid, stupid rockies!
